Investors can join any Astra DAO index or investment pool by purchasing iTokens about that index/pool. iTokens can only be purchased with ETH, DAI, USDT, or USDC. The exact amount of iTokens received is calculated based on the ratio of their allocation value to the entire index value.

Astra DAO Index chose the USDC token as the base currency to buy or sell tokens, although users have two options for purchasing the iToken. They can either use Ether or ERC-20 stablecoins. Whichever method they choose, it will be converted to USDC and then used to buy the stablecoins.

iTokens are equivalent to a percentage share in index USDC value. Every profit or loss incurred by the index is transferred to iToken holders based on their iToken participation ratio out of all outstanding iTokens.

Example: User A puts 500 USDC in ABC_index. He is the first investor; therefore, he receives 500 ABC_iTokens.

User B invests an additional 500 USDC in ABC_index and also receives 500 ABC_iTokens.

User A has 500 ABC_iTokens and a 50% share in ABC_index value.

User B has 500 ABC_iTokens and 50% share in ABC_index value.
